[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign. Hi, everyone. Hi, Vicky. I'm so jealous. I'm so jealous. Oh, where are you going? [00:01:17] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [00:01:19] Speaker A: We're going Greece and a little bit Budapest and then, like a little bit round trip. [00:01:26] Speaker B: Round trip. [00:01:30] Speaker A: I want to go to. [00:01:33] Speaker B: We can switch. [00:01:35] Speaker A: Yes, we could. We could. Totally. [00:01:38] Speaker B: Okay. Well, you know, Emily, today is our last episode of HSK2. Can you believe it? [00:01:46] Speaker A: Oh, my goodness. No. So what are we gonna see today? [00:01:53] Speaker B: Well, today we're gonna review some of the grammar points of HSK2 that we have been learning. And what else? [00:02:04] Speaker A: And we're gonna also give you tips about the exam. We're gonna talk a little bit about what this exam is, what it's about. We're gonna see in this exam, so we're gonna do. [00:02:18] Speaker B: Good. So before we start, you are listening to Hanging Chinese School podcast. We meet at a cafe after studying. So let's start how the live. Okay, well, let's start diving into the key grammar points here that we're gonna review what we have learned before. So let's see some examples from the dialogues. [00:04:20] Speaker A: Okay, so first one we have here is. Blah, blah, blah. Oh, sorry, sorry. Okay, so the first one is. So we are emphasizing the details. So, for example, that we said in the dialogue we have. So it was teacher Wang who taught the class. [00:04:50] Speaker B: Yes. And let's see another example. He came sitting by car, not walking. [00:05:05] Speaker A: Very good. So then we have May every or each. So we use it to indicate a regular or repeated action. So, for example, we have make a Shinchi make. So let's look at the first example from the dialogue. So every Monday, teacher Wang teaches the class. [00:05:35] Speaker B: A tip for May. Actually, you can combine me with numbers or sequences. Like, I practice Chinese characters once every two days. [00:05:54] Speaker A: Very good. Then we have once again or one more time. So to break it down means again and is the time. So let's look the example from the dialogue we had. So the teacher let me to review. Review the Text to read the text one more time. [00:06:24] Speaker B: Yeah. Let's see another example. Try one more time. [00:06:34] Speaker A: Very good. Then we have here B to compare. So we have B. Let's do the they see. Let's see the structure first. So a the first object. A B B the second object and then the adjective. So let's look at the example that we have. Remembering the vocabulary. So it's comparing to the before ones. The the time before. So right now it's easier to remember the vocabulary than before. [00:07:15] Speaker B: That's right. Let's see another example. My friend is taller than me. [00:07:25] Speaker A: Very good. Then the fifth one we have when blah blah blah. So we use the circle to indicate the time when an action happens. So first we have when playing games, I remembered every vocabulary. [00:07:52] Speaker B: Let's see another example. During class I saw my classmate listening carefully. [00:08:05] Speaker A: Very good. So verb and then the so next we have verb and then to have a past experience. Probably not like class right now, but like before before in one time in of your life. So let's take a look yo the Although I have seen some of the vocabularies so I haven't seen. It's not like I'm reading them now or I have read them yesterday, but perhaps I read them. I read them throughout sometimes in my life. [00:08:44] Speaker B: Yeah, that's right. So with you can actually combine it with frequency adverse to sound more natural. Like I've been to Beijing twice. [00:08:59] Speaker A: Very good. Then we have the last one. It's more many or to do more. So it's a suggestion that we use. We use it if we put the before a verb it means like oh, just do something more. So for example we have so no problem. Just practice more. [00:09:25] Speaker B: Yeah. And you can actually can be used with verbs and nouns like read more books, drink more water, rest more. You can even use with adjectives for emphasize how beautiful. [00:09:49] Speaker A: Very good. [00:09:51] Speaker B: So now it's your turn to practice. We have what we have just reviewed like with so how. What's the challenge? What's the homework? Yes. [00:10:09] Speaker A: So here we have the challenge for you. It's how would you say in Chinese I had tried dumpling once when I was in baking. [00:10:19] Speaker B: Yeah. So write your sentence in the comments below. Don't worry if it's not perfect. We can't wait to see your sentence. Go ahead, try and comment now. [00:10:30] Speaker A: Okay. Very nice. So let's take a look at the lesson before we had quite a dialogue, right? [00:10:37] Speaker B: Yeah. So I'm gonna start with a dialogue. How was the. How was your Chinese class yesterday? [00:10:54] Speaker A: Very good. Yesterday's class was very interesting. [00:11:02] Speaker B: Was it Teacher 1 teaching this the class? [00:11:19] Speaker A: So yes, every Monday, Teacher Wang teaches the class. This time the teacher asked me to read a text and do the vocabulary one more time. Then we played a small game. Really? [00:11:40] Speaker B: Do you think remembering vocabulary is easier than before? [00:11:51] Speaker A: Yes, when playing the game, I remembered every vocabulary. [00:12:06] Speaker B: Great. I've seen some vocabulary words before, but I don't know how to remember them. [00:12:19] Speaker A: No problem, Just practice more. Let's review it together. [00:12:25] Speaker B: Okay, let's go. [00:13:59] Speaker B: So we're going to talk about a very interesting topic. I think students might be very excited about what we are talking about. [00:14:11] Speaker A: So we're going to talk about HSK2 exam. So of course you guys been been here been all the way to the last episode of HSK2. So I bet you guys are all interested in also taking the exam, right? [00:14:30] Speaker B: You can leave the comments below. Okay, so this is a question for you guys. Leave in the comments. What do you think about the HSK culture? Have you ever done it before? Or if not, you can share your experience also in the comments. [00:14:59] Speaker A: Yeah, so HSK2 is the second level of the official Chinese test for the non native speaker. So it is designed for learners who who can communicate in simple daily situations. [00:15:15] Speaker B: Exactly. Also covers about like 300 basic Chinese words grammar points. So if you have been learning or Studying with us or listening to our podcast, you probably already familiar with most of it. [00:15:32] Speaker A: Yes. So one of many students don't realize is that the exam is divided into two main parts, listening and reading only. So there are no speaking section at the SSKDU level. But still listening can be tricky, so need to pay attention. [00:15:54] Speaker B: Right. Some questions has subtle difference in grammar or sentence pattern, for example, or might appear in ways that confuse learners if you haven't practiced enough. [00:16:10] Speaker A: And so here, here's a tip for you might not know. In China, Many students take SSK2 exam multiple times a year because the certificate are valid indefinite. But your level keeps improving if you keep practicing, right? [00:16:31] Speaker B: Yeah. And also did you know that in some countries taking the HSK is super expensive compared to China. I mean in, in China you might pay around like 100 RMB, just over like €12, but abroad it can be more than €50. Did you know that? [00:16:52] Speaker A: Wow. I. I do like heard some of these exams will be depending. Depending on the the country, also depending on the normal salary, normal income. So it does like for example, when I took the Spanish exam, it was also. There was also like a really huge difference between if I took it here in Spain or in South America. So that is also, that is also something that they would do. So also if you guys would ever planning to take on this exam, try to find like, try to find more resource, try to try to do more research online and find a local exam center and do some compare on the prices. So it's a small thing, but it can save you a lot of money. [00:17:44] Speaker B: Yeah, that's a very good tip. Finally a fun fact. Some HSK2 questions are based on real life situations like ordering food or talking about hobbies. So everything you learn in our podcast is actually exam relevant. [00:18:01] Speaker A: Exactly. So try to like, try to. You can read whatever you want, you can, you can watch YouTube, you can watch a lot of our podcasts because like right now, our podcast all the last lesson, we have the culture segment and then we talk about all kinds of things that's happening around Internet around Chinese culture. So yeah, you can get to know more about the daily, daily life in China through our podcast. [00:18:37] Speaker B: Yeah, definitely. So go and listen. Okay. [00:18:41] Speaker A: Starting from the first episode of course. [00:18:44] Speaker B: And if you want from HSA1. [00:18:47] Speaker A: Exactly. And also if you are planning to study more, don't never ever missed out on our next episode. Of course this is the last episode of the HSK2, but starting from this week we have HSK3, so of course we have more cultures to talk about more grammar topic and you guys will be interested for sure. [00:19:13] Speaker B: Yeah. So stay tuned. All right, let's move on to the next section. Now let's review your answers. We asked before, how would you say I had tried dumpling once when I was in Beijing in China in Chinese. [00:19:31] Speaker A: So the correct answer is. So now we can focus on the Shihou when So when I was in Beijing and then I have tried once. It's the object in the end. [00:19:57] Speaker B: Good. So keep practicing.
